Dim dim sum. Dim dim sum. Dim dim dim sum dim sum dim sum (ok, nyanyi cara lagu Chinese New year tu ok). Hahahah
We the foodies were at Quality Hotel Shah Alam yesterday for our 2nd dim sum session. This time we brought Surie (fellow course mate/foodie) along as she didn't get the chance to join us on the 1st trip here. And the other reason for this 2nd dim sum session was that we were HOOKED with it!. Sangat SEDAP!.
The were lots varieties. Every dish served on the table was tasty and lip-smacking especially those fried ones (there were the yam and chicken fried dumpling, fried yam cake, banana fritters and red bean sesame ball). The steamed ones were prepared al dante way. The texture was just right. Not too soggy nor chewy. But too me most the steamed ones tasted kinda same as all we filled with minced chicken and prawns. But the best was the one wrapped with foo chuk (soy a skin). The fried ones were not oily (guess that the chefs made sure that the oil was heated up to the correct temperature so that the little delicacies were not. Alamak how to say this eh? Orang melayu cakap " tak makan minyak"). LOL. go figure eh. Our personal favourite was the steamed BBQ chicken pau. The steamed BBQ chicken pau was so good! Sgt gebu! Soft and moist!. We ordered that 3 times.Hahaha. However, the tau fu far dessert wasn't that good as the sugar syrup had a funny taste. Tasted like cough syrup but i assumed that the weird taste came from the syrup water from the tinned fruit cocktail. We pretty much put that dessert aside.
So...lets feast our eyes shall we?.
Us, the postgraduates
Starter: Chicken dumpling with mushroom and crabstick soup. Yummayyhhh
BBQ Chicken Pau yang sangat GEBU (favourite kami ni, siap tapau lagi..hahah)
The spread. Steamed version in bamboo basket (ok, sila telan air liur sekarang :p)
Oh hello there little darlings
More spread
The fried ones (L-R): Banana and Yam Fritters (Wrapped in popiah skin and fried till perfection), Red bean sesame ball, Fried Yam cake. Wicked i tell you Lipsmaking!.
Tau fu far with fruit cocktail...Not to our liking
Foodies (Far and Surie) displaying the oh so sedap fried yam and carrot kueh. It tastes like Char Kuey Teow exactly but minus the kuey teow. Yums!
Foodies (Mai and Ayep). Enjoying every bite of the selections.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch. Pure satisfaction. It was all smiles for us. "Gendang gendut tali kecapi, kenyang perut, SANGAT HAPPY". ;)
